What’s a "passive income" stream that actually works?

One guy in my area runs a small blog and I used to think it was waste of time. Recently he showed me his ad revenue and it was steady daily, not crazy big but consistent. He posts, sleeps, and money still enters gradually. The real passive income is slow at first and boring, not those quick returns people advertise. But once it grows, it becomes reliable like salary.
 
Yeah! Blogging is very reliable passive income but i have not benefited from it much. I use to stake my money on cryptocurrency, it is passive not the interest is not much but it have been consistent.
